The Leuze AMS 338i 300 is an optical distance sensor from the AMS 300i series, designed for precise long-range measurements up to 300 m, ideal for collision protection on cranes and gantry systems, positioning in electroplating plants, and skillet system applications. It features a modulated laser light source (protection class 2) with a measurement range of 200 to 300,000 mm, resolution from 0.001 to 10 mm, accuracy of 2 mm, reproducibility of 0.9 mm (3 sigma), and a maximum traverse rate of 10 m/s, with 8 ms calculation time and low temperature drift (0.01-0.1 mm/K). Electrical specifications include 18-30 V DC supply, EtherCAT interface with integrated switch (100 Mbit/s), and four M12 connectors (D-coded for BUS IN/OUT, A-coded for PWR and service); the cubic metal housing (die-cast zinc/aluminum, 84 x 166.5 x 159 mm, 2.45 kg) supports through-hole mounting and includes an LC display with 4 LEDs.
