The Dynapar AD36 is a compact absolute encoder featuring true geared multi-turn, optical sensing technology with a 36 mm diameter housing and 1.5-inch outside diameter compatible with resolver size 15 mounting envelopes. This unit delivers up to 22-bit single-turn and 12-bit true multi-turn absolute positioning resolution via SSI (Synchronous Serial Interface) with Gray code output, supported by optional 1 Vpp sine-cosine incremental signals (2048 pulses per revolution) for backward compatibility with legacy drive systems. The encoder achieves ±35 arcsecond absolute accuracy and ±7 arcsecond repeatability with a 500 kHz bandwidth, operating continuously at speeds up to 10,000 rpm (12,000 rpm short-term) while maintaining performance across an extended temperature range of ?40 °C to +120 °C. Mechanical construction includes a hollow-shaft or hub-shaft option with stainless steel shaft, spring-tether mounting, and sealed PCB connector (12-pole radial) for simplified integration. The integrated diagnostic system provides warning and alarm bits for proactive system monitoring, with integrated reverse-polarity protection for 7–30 VDC supplies.
