The Dynapar DS616-AS20 is a high-performance absolute optical rotary encoder from the series, providing single-turn resolutions of 12-22 bits and multi-turn resolution of 12 bits with parallel interface output in binary, gray, or gray excess codes. It operates on 5 VDC (-5%/+10%) or 10-30 VDC power supplies, with intrinsic current consumption of 150 mA (single-turn) or 300 mA (multi-turn) at 5V, and features a frequency response up to 500 kHz, update rates of 1 mHz (single-turn) or 100 kHz (multi-turn), and maximum cable length of 100 m. Mechanical specifications include 6 mm or 10 mm shaft diameters, maximum speeds of 10,000 RPM continuous/12,000 RPM peak, IP64/IP67 enclosure rating, -40°C to +100°C operating temperature range, 1,000 m/s² shock resistance, and 100 m/s² vibration tolerance (10-2000 Hz). Suitable for precision position feedback in factory automation, servo motors, and harsh industrial environments, it meets EN 61326-1 standards for noise and electrical immunity.
