Installation Notes
- Power supply sizing: SMC notes an inrush current of approximately 40 A at power on. Size the 24 VDC supply and protection for it.
- Lever orientation: the transfer direction relative to the body can be changed in 90 degree steps by removing the guide rod.
- Avoid collisions with an upright lever: if a pallet strikes the lever after the shock absorber has already absorbed a stop, the full impact goes into the cylinder body.
- Shock absorber replacement: the absorber is replaced by loosening a set screw, as on SMC's pneumatic stoppers.
- X3 models are made to order. Lead time is quoted per order.

Can an SMC electric stopper replace a pneumatic RS2H?
Yes. The LEBH-X3 has the same mounting hole pitch and height from the mounting surface to the roller center as the RS2H heavy duty stopper. It is offered in sizes 50, 63, and 80 to match RS2H bores, so a conveyor can switch from air to electric without changing the mounting.
Does the LEBH electric stopper need a controller?
No. The LEBH-X3 is controllerless and runs from a simple 24 VDC on/off signal. The LEBQ-X1 is the controller type and uses a dedicated JXC controller; the LEBQ-X31 is the controllerless LEBQ.
What happens to an electric stopper if power is lost?
LEB stoppers extend by spring force and are retracted by the motor. With power applied, a solenoid holds the stopper retracted. If power is removed, the spring extends the stopper.
How heavy a pallet can the LEBH stop?
SMC rates the LEBH-X3 for transferred objects up to 800 kg, the largest of the LEB family. The LEBQ handles up to 130 kg with a controller or 70 kg controllerless. Size from SMC's operating range charts using pallet weight, conveyor speed, and friction coefficient.
