The PULS SP960.241-SR is a 960 W, 24 VDC, 40 A single-phase DIN rail power supply from the PULS PLANET SP series, built for redundant power systems. Built-in, energy-efficient MOSFET decoupling on the output means two units can be paralleled for redundancy without a separate redundancy module, and a faulty unit cannot become a load on the healthy one. Dynamic BonusPower delivers 1152 W continuously up to +45 °C and 1440 W for up to 5 seconds up to +70 °C, so motor starts, solenoid banks, and capacitive loads are covered without oversizing the supply.

Key Features

  • Built-in decoupling for redundancy: integrated MOSFET decoupling on the output, no external diode or redundancy module required
  • Dynamic BonusPower Management: 120% (1152 W) continuous up to +45 °C, 150% (1440 W) for 5 s up to +70 °C, repeatedly available with short recovery times
  • High efficiency: 96.2% at 230 Vac and 94.9% at 120 Vac (24 V, 40 A), with only 3.6 W no-load losses at 120 Vac
  • Compact 96 mm width for a 960 W unit, convection cooled with no fan
  • Enhanced HiccupPLUS overload protection protects both the connected system and the power supply
  • 80 A fuse breaking current (up to 12 ms) helps trip fuses on faulty output branches while the output stays above 20 V
  • DC OK relay contact and DC OK LED for remote diagnostics and per-unit monitoring in redundant systems
  • Parallel Use / Single Use link for load sharing when paralleling units to increase output power
  • Hazardous location rated: Class I Division 2 Groups A, B, C, D and ATEX / IECEx Zone 2
  • 3-year PULS warranty

Redundancy Without the Extra Module

The "-SR" in SP960.241-SR stands for the built-in redundancy decoupling. In a conventional redundant 24 VDC system, two power supplies feed a separate redundancy module so that a failed unit cannot pull down the bus. The SP960.241-SR moves that MOSFET decoupling inside the power supply, which saves DIN rail space, wiring, and a component in the bill of materials while keeping losses low.

For a redundant build, PULS recommends separate input fuses for each unit and monitoring each supply through its own DC OK relay contact, so a failed unit is flagged before the system loses its backup.

Typical Applications

  • Redundant 24 VDC control power for PLCs, I/O, and safety systems where downtime is not acceptable
  • Machine and panel builds with high inrush or peak loads, such as motors, brakes, and solenoid valve banks
  • Process control and monitoring equipment in Class I Division 2 and Zone 2 hazardous locations
  • Semiconductor processing equipment requiring SEMI F47 voltage sag immunity
  • Charging 24 V lead-acid (SLA / VRLA) battery systems with no external blocking diode required
