How to Find the Right Replacement Part Number
Read the full part number from the cylinder label. You need three things from it: the series (MY1B, MY1M, MY1C, MY1H, and so on, including any Z suffix), the bore, and the stroke. The table shows how SMC builds the replacement part numbers from those values, using a 25 mm bore and 500 mm stroke as the example.

Seal Kits
SMC seal kits contain the wear seals for one cylinder: piston seals, cushion seals, scrapers, tube gaskets, and O-rings, plus a 10 g grease pack. The exact contents vary by series. Seal kits are specific to the series as well as the bore, so an MY1B25-PS and an MY1H25-PS are different kits.
Not included in the seal kit: the seal belt, the dust seal band, the belt clamps, and some side scrapers and gaskets. Order these separately by part number when you rebuild.
Seal Belts and Dust Seal Bands
The seal belt runs inside the cylinder tube to hold air pressure, and the stainless steel dust seal band covers the slot from the outside to keep contaminants out. Both run the full length of the cylinder, so both are ordered by bore and stroke. A grease pack ships with a seal belt or dust seal band ordered on its own (10 g per 1000 mm of stroke, per SMC).
Z type vs standard bands. MY1B-Z and MY1H-Z cylinders in 25, 32, and 40 mm use the MY1B[Bore]-16B dust seal band. Other MY1 series use MY[Bore]-16B, and SMC offers two band finishes for many sizes: 16B (black zinc chromated) and 16BW (nickel plated). Match the band to the one on your cylinder.
Older cylinders. SMC changed the seal belt design in October 2015. If you are replacing the seal belt on a cylinder built before the change, SMC specifies a matching belt clamp for some sizes. Contact us with your cylinder's part number and lot number and we will confirm the right combination.
Stroke Adjustment Units
Stroke adjustment units mount at the cylinder ends to set the stroke and absorb impact. The unit code matches the suffix on the cylinder: A (adjustment bolt), L (low load shock absorber with adjustment bolt), or H (high load shock absorber with adjustment bolt). Units are series-specific, for example MYH-A for the MY1H and MYM-A for the MY1M, and sized by bore.
Intermediate fixing spacers hold the adjustment unit at an intermediate stroke position. Check your cylinder drawing for the spacer length before ordering.
Drive Units and Brackets
MY1BH drive cylinders. The MY1BH is the drive cylinder for the MY1HT high rigidity linear guide series, ordered by bore and stroke. It replaces the cylinder portion of an MY1HT assembly.
MYAJ floating brackets. The MYAJ mounts to the MY3 cylinder carriage to connect it to an external guide, absorbing misalignment so the guide carries the load. Order by bore: MYAJ16, MYAJ25, MYAJ40, or MYAJ63.
Rodless Cylinder Replacement Parts FAQ
Does the SMC MY1B seal kit include the seal belt and dust seal band?
No. SMC seal kits such as the MY1B25-PS include piston seals, cushion seals, scrapers, gaskets, O-rings, and a grease pack, but not the seal belt or dust seal band. Order the belt and band separately by bore and stroke.
What does the number after -16B mean in an SMC dust seal band part number?
It is the cylinder stroke in millimeters. For example, MY1B25-16B-500 is the dust seal band for a 25 mm bore Z type cylinder with a 500 mm stroke.
What is the difference between the 16B and 16BW dust seal band?
They are two finishes of the same band: 16B is black zinc chromated and 16BW is nickel plated. Order the finish that matches the band currently on your cylinder.
How do I find the seal kit for my SMC rodless cylinder?
Take the series and bore from the cylinder part number and add -PS. A cylinder labeled MY1H32G-500L uses the MY1H32-PS seal kit. Seal kits are series-specific, so do not substitute a kit from a different MY series with the same bore.
What is an MY1BH cylinder?
The MY1BH is SMC's drive cylinder for the MY1HT high rigidity linear guide rodless cylinder. It lets you replace the cylinder portion of an MY1HT, ordered by bore and stroke.
Not Sure Which Part You Need?
Send the full part number from your cylinder label, and the lot number if it is an older cylinder. Automation Distribution will identify the seal kit, seal belt, dust seal band, and any other parts for the rebuild.
