The SMC 25A-CDM2L40-729Z is a secondary battery compatible stainless mini cylinder with the largest 40mm bore, lock-up mechanism, and extra-long 729mm stroke. Part number decoded: CDM2 = CM2 double acting, L = lock-up, 40 = 40mm bore (largest CM2), 729 = 729mm stroke, Z = auto-switch groove.
At 40mm bore, the CM2 generates approximately 75N at 0.6 MPa the maximum force in the stainless mini round range. The 729mm stroke with lock-up provides the most capable safety-critical CM2 configuration: maximum force, maximum travel, and position retention. This handles the heaviest vertical or gravity-loaded stainless mini actuation in secondary battery production.
