Lightweight Deployability — Precision Tasks. Anywhere You Need It.
The Cobot That Fits Anywhere
The UR7e is Universal Robots' most deployable light-to-medium payload cobot — the direct successor to the popular UR5e, and the right choice for anyone who needs precision automation in tight spaces, on existing production lines, or in environments where the robot needs to move between tasks as often as it runs them.
With 7.5 kg of payload, 850 mm of reach — extending 200 mm beyond the average worker's arm — and a footprint of just Ø 151 mm, the UR7e fits into workcells that other robots can't. It mounts on a table, within a machine, on a wall, or upside down from a gantry. It redeploys to a new task in minutes. And it runs on about the same power as a desktop computer.
Whether you're automating screwdriving on an electronics line, tending a CNC machine, running quality inspection in a pharmaceutical cell, or dispensing adhesive on a precision assembly fixture, the UR7e delivers ±0.03 mm repeatability and collaborative flexibility to do it right — every cycle, every shift.

Why the UR7e
Common Applications
The UR7e's compact size, high precision, and 850 mm reach make it the go-to choice for light-to-medium automation across a wide range of industries. Its ±0.03 mm repeatability opens doors to applications that heavier cobots simply can't serve.
Machine Tending
The UR7e's slim profile was built for machine enclosures. It reaches inside open CNC lathes, milling centers, and injection moulding machines to load and unload parts — accessing tight spaces that larger cobots can't enter. Run unattended across shifts with consistent, repeatable part placement every cycle.
Assembly & Electronics Manufacturing
The UR7e works directly alongside operators on electronics assembly and selective soldering lines — no safety cage required in appropriate applications. Its compact footprint integrates into existing line layouts without redesign, and its ±0.03 mm repeatability ensures consistent component placement on every board, every shift.
Pick & Place / Material Handling
Fast, accurate, tireless. The UR7e handles continuous pick-and-place — sorting, kitting, packing, and transferring parts between stations — at a pace and consistency no manual process can match. Program once, run indefinitely. When a product changes, reprogram and redeploy the same day.
Precision CNC Tending & Component Handling
The UR7e's ±0.03 mm repeatability makes it the right tool for precision component handling in high-tolerance manufacturing environments. Here at OptiPro Systems, a UR cobot picks and places optical lens blanks from organized trays into a CNC grinding machine — running unattended while the machine cycles. Consistent part presentation at every pick means consistent machining results on every part.
Quality Inspection & 3D Metrology
Mount a camera, structured-light scanner, laser profiler, or contact probe and let the UR7e run your inspection cycle automatically. Consistent probe positioning at ±0.03 mm repeatability delivers measurement data you can trust — and eliminates the operator variability that manual inspection can't avoid. Ideal for automotive, aerospace, and precision manufacturing QC cells.
More Applications
Electronics & semiconductor, automotive components, medical device manufacturing, pharmaceutical & life sciences, food & beverage, consumer goods, aerospace sub-assembly, laboratory automation, and general light manufacturing. The UR7e's combination of compact size, high precision, and ease of use makes it the most widely deployed cobot across these sectors.
Software Platforms
The UR7e is available with two software platforms. Both run on the same robot arm — the difference is in the controller generation and software capabilities.
- Proven, mature platform deployed globally
- Broadest URCap ecosystem — largest certified third-party library
- Ideal for expanding existing PS5 fleets
- Graphical task-based programming — no coding required
- Full URScript, RTDE, and Dashboard Server API
- Next-generation platform — future-first investment
- OptiMove advanced motion control for smoother, faster paths
- Browser-based offline programming — build before deployment
- Operator Screen for independent line-operator changeovers
- Modules, Functions, Smart Skills, Application Variables
UR7e — Choose Your Configuration
The UR7e is available in eight configurations across two software platforms. Every variant uses the same robot arm — the differences are in the controller generation, teach pendant, and power input.
