WAGO Visual Designer Software
WAGO Visual Designer Software
The no-cost engineering tool for programming the WAGO Visual Panel 200 series of industrial HMI touch panels - with alarms, trending, data logging, recipe management, simulation, and drivers for most major PLC platforms.
WAGO Visual Designer is the visualization engineering software used to build operator screens for every model in the WAGO Visual Panel 200 HMI series. It is available at no cost - there are no development-seat or runtime licenses to purchase - which makes it especially cost-effective for OEMs deploying the same HMI across many machines and for integrators standardizing on a single toolchain.

What is WAGO Visual Designer?
WAGO Visual Designer is a drag-and-drop visualization environment for designing the screens that run on WAGO Visual Panel 200 HMIs. It combines an intuitive screen editor with the data and connectivity tools an industrial visualization project needs, and it runs as a no-cost engineering tool with no licensing tied to the number of seats, runtimes, or projects.
Key features
- Drag-and-drop screen editor with an intuitive, modern interface accessible to users of all skill levels
- Data tools: alarms, trending, data logging, and recipe management
- Online and offline project simulator for testing visualizations before deployment
- VNC server and viewer for remote access and monitoring
- Built-in web server for browser-based visualization
- Broad PLC driver library covering most popular industrial automation controllers
- Inter-protocol gateway capability via Modbus client and server support
Supported protocols and connectivity
Visual Designer connects WAGO Visual Panel 200 HMIs to controllers over OPC UA Server/Client, Modbus TCP (master/slave) and Modbus RTU, EtherNet/IP (ODVA) adapter and scanner, MQTT JSON Publisher (SparkPlug), and CODESYS. Because the panels support Modbus client and server roles, a single Visual Panel 200 can bridge devices that otherwise could not communicate - turning the HMI into an inter-protocol gateway in addition to an operator interface.
Which HMIs does Visual Designer program?
Visual Designer programs every model in the Visual Panel 200 series:
- WAGO Visual Panel 204 (8003-099/000-160) - 4.3" 800 x 480, 600 cd/m², IP65 front
- WAGO Visual Panel 207 (8003-099/000-188) - 7" 1024 x 600, 1000 cd/m², IP68 front
- WAGO Visual Panel 210 (8003-099/000-162) - 10.1" 1280 x 800, IP68 front, VESA
- WAGO Visual Panel 210WT (8003-099/000-163) - 10.1" 1280 x 800, 1200 cd/m² daylight, wide-temp
Frequently asked questions
Is WAGO Visual Designer free?
