The ABB PSTX170-600-70 Soft Starter is engineered for optimal motor control and energy efficiency. Designed to handle a maximum operational current of 170 A, it operates within a voltage range of 208 to 600 V AC, with a control voltage between 100 to 250 V AC at 50/60 Hz. This advanced soft starter features a three-phase control for smooth soft start and stop, utilizing either a voltage or torque ramp. Its built-in bypass simplifies installation and enhances energy savings. The PSTX170-600-70 is equipped with relay outputs for RUN, TOR, and Event signals in a normally open state. Key functionalities include current limit, kickstart, analog output, end-of-life (EOL) monitoring, motor heating, and pump cleaning. Additional features such as jog, braking, stand-still brake, diagnostics, sequence start, and emergency/fire pump mode are standard. The device is user-friendly, featuring a detachable full graphic display with IP66 and 4x outdoor rating for easy interaction. Communication with the PSTX is versatile, offering hardwire inputs for Start/Stop/Reset of faults, three programmable digital inputs, and built-in Fieldbus communication via Modbus RTU. Optional ANYBUS modules support major protocols like Profinet, Profibus, Modbus TCP, and Ethernet IP. An external adaptor and Fieldbus plug provide further communication options. The PSTX is ideal for medium to large-sized three-phase motors, supporting nominal currents from 30 to 1250 A in inline connection or 52 to 2160 A in inside delta connection. It is perfect for applications such as pumps, fans, compressors, and conveyors, making it a comprehensive solution for any motor starting needs.
