The SMC CDA2F40-100Z is a CA2-Z series double-acting, single-rod tie-rod air cylinder with a 40 mm bore and 100 mm stroke in a rod-side flange mounting. It carries a built-in magnet for auto switch mounting and ships with air cushion on both ends. The CA2-Z generation runs up to 15% lighter than the prior CA2 through a redesigned rod and head cover, with a wider air-cushion adjustment range for finer end-of-stroke control.

Current-production successor to the discontinued CDA2F40-100. Same 40 mm bore, 100 mm stroke, and rod flange mounting - specify the CDA2F40-100Z.

Replacing CDA2F40-100

If you previously specified CDA2F40-100, the CDA2F40-100Z is the direct current-production replacement. Bore (40 mm), stroke (100 mm), and rod-side flange mounting are unchanged; the CA2-Z redesign lightens the cylinder and widens the cushion adjustment range while keeping the same mounting interface. Confirm the cover envelope against the current SMC drawing if panel clearance is tight.

Specifying in a new design

Rod-side flange mounting fixes the cylinder rigidly at the rod end - a good default for pushing/pressing against a fixed frame. For swinging loads, choose the double clevis (D) version instead.
