Universal Robots updated the wrist connector on e-Series cobots in late 2024, changing from an M8 Male (old) to an M8 Female (new) connector. The GRP-ES-CPL-062 uses an M8 Female connector and is designed for older UR wrists with M8 Male connectors. Robots purchased after approximately October 2024 use the new M8 Female wrist connector and require a different coupling or adapter cable.
New UR robots (purchased after 2024-10-01) affected: UR3e S/N 20245300603+, UR5e S/N 20245500899+, UR10e S/N 20245201616+, UR16e S/N 20245600110+. If your robot serial number is at or above these thresholds, see the cable compatibility table below before ordering.
The Robotiq GRP-ES-CPL-062 Gripper Coupling Kit connects any Robotiq Adaptive Gripper — Hand-E, 2F-85, or 2F-140 — directly to the wrist of a Universal Robots e-Series cobot. It routes both power and RS485 communication through a single device cable, eliminating the separate controller cable run required by older CB-series couplings. Compatible with UR3e, UR5e, UR10e, and UR16e cobots with the original M8 Male wrist connector.
Kit Contents — GRP-ES-CPL-062
1× Mechanical Coupling
Mounts to the UR e-Series wrist. Aligns via dowel pin. Accepts any Robotiq Adaptive Gripper (Hand-E, 2F-85, 2F-140). Lock screws with medium-strength threadlocker.
1× Screw Kit (CPL-SCREW-KIT)
All mounting hardware needed to secure the coupling to the robot wrist and the gripper to the coupling. No additional hardware required.
1× Flexible Device Cable (CBL-COM-2072)
Single cable carries 24 V power and RS485 communication from the UR controller to the gripper. Eliminates the need for a separate power supply or communication line.
1× Coupling Protector Kit (GRP-ES-CPL-PRO)
Protects the wrist connection from debris, dust, and accidental contact. Included as standard in this kit configuration.

Already buying a gripper kit?
The GRP-ES-CPL-062 coupling is included as standard in the HND-ES-UR-KIT (Hand-E), AGC-ES-UR-KIT-002 (2F-85), and AGC-ES-UR-KIT-140 (2F-140) bundles. Order this part separately only when replacing a damaged coupling, adding a second gripper, or setting up a standalone mounting configuration.
Installation Notes
Tools Required
4 mm hex key to mount the gripper onto the coupling. Metric hex key (size per coupling) to mount the coupling onto the robot wrist. Medium-strength threadlocker for all screws.
Mounting Sequence
Mount coupling to robot wrist first, aligning with the dowel pin. Then mount gripper to coupling using provided M5 screws. Apply threadlocker to all fasteners before final tightening.
Dual Gripper Configuration
When installing two grippers on one robot, each gripper requires its own coupling. Use the ACC-SPLIT-M8-1M/2F splitter with the AGC-APL-159-002 dual gripper adapter plate. Mount couplings with provided M6 × 10 mm screws.
Communication & Power
RS485 signals (485+, 485−, 485 GND) are isolated from the 24 V power supply. GND may be connected to any ground reference as long as the voltage potential between grounds does not exceed 250 V.
