The SMC 25A-CDQ2A32-40DMZ-M9NL is the NPN auto-switch variant of the 32mm bore, 40mm stroke DM compact cylinder, providing sinking-type position feedback for NPN-compatible PLCs. Part number decoded: CDQ2 = CQ2 double acting, A = A-type, 32 = 32mm bore, 40 = 40mm stroke, DM = D option with M modification, Z = auto-switch groove, M9NL = pre-mounted NPN auto-switch with L lead wire.

Mechanically identical to the CDQ2A32-40DMZ-M9BL — same 32mm bore, 40mm stroke, DM modification, and approximately 48N force at 0.6 MPa. The only difference is the switch output: M9NL provides NPN sinking output versus the M9BL PNP sourcing output. NPN is standard on many Asian-manufactured battery production PLCs and motion controllers.

Same application range as the PNP variant: prismatic cell case insertion, electrode notching clamps, anode and cathode registration, and cell grading reject diverters. Choose NPN M9NL when the PLC inputs are sinking-type (common on Mitsubishi, Keyence, and Omron NPN-input controllers used on many battery production lines). For PNP sourcing output, switch to the CDQ2A32-40DMZ-M9BL. For the DCM cushioned version with NPN, the CDQ2A32-40DCMZ-M9NVLS provides end-cushion protection. RoHS compliant.
