The SMC AF20-01-D is a modular pneumatic air filter from SMC's current AF20-D~AF60-D series, with a body size 20, Rc 1/8 ports, a 5 micron element, a polycarbonate bowl, and a manual drain cock. It removes condensed water and solid particulate from compressed air upstream of regulators, lubricators, valves and actuators. Its modular construction couples directly to other size-20 SMC air-preparation components to build a compact F.R.L. station.

Why the AF-D series
The AF-D is SMC's modernized modular filter line. Against the previous AF-A it offers roughly 1.3x more filtration capacity and improved water separation, which extends element service life between changes. It keeps the one-piece element-and-bowl design for tool-free, in-hand element replacement, and on larger body sizes adds a 2-layer bowl with a transparent bowl guard for 360° visibility and added impact protection. Because the modular interface is unchanged, the AF20-01-D drops into the same air-prep lineup as the part it replaces.
Replacing an AF20-01-A
The AF20-01-D is the like-for-like successor to the AF20-01-A: identical body size 20, Rc 1/8 ports, polycarbonate bowl, drain cock and left-to-right flow. The 5 micron filter element (AF20P-060S) is shared between both, so existing element spares carry over. The bowl assembly and baffle differ (AF-D uses C2SF-D and AF24P-040S).
