The Leuze AMS 300i 40 is a precision optical distance sensor designed for industrial positioning and collision-detection applications in manufacturing environments. Utilizing red laser technology (Class 2, IEC/EN 60825-1:2014), it delivers measurements across a 20040,000mm range with 2mm accuracy and 0.9mm reproducibility (3 sigma), making it suitable for crane collision protection, electroplating plant positioning, and skillet system alignment. The sensor operates on 1830V DC power, offers configurable RS 232 and RS 422 serial interfaces with transmission speeds up to 115,200 Bd, and achieves a maximum traverse rate of 10m/s. The rugged diecast zinc/aluminum housing with glass lens cover houses a membrane keyboard for on-site operation, while M12 5-pin A-coded connectors provide industrial-grade connectivity for power, bus input, and service access.
