The Leuze AMS 304i 120 H is an optical laser distance sensor designed for precise, absolute position measurement up to 120 m using reflective tape (ordered separately). It features a red laser (Class 2 per IEC/EN 60825-1), measurement range of 200120,000 mm, accuracy of ±2 mm, reproducibility of 1.5 mm (3 sigma), and resolution from 0.00110 mm, with 8 ms calculation time and max traverse rate of 10 m/s. Electrical specs include 1830 V DC supply, PROFIBUS DP (up to 12 Mbit/s) and SSI (50800 kHz) interfaces via M12 connectors, housed in a diecast zinc/aluminum enclosure (84 x 166.5 x 159 mm, 2.45 kg, IP65), with integrated heating for -30 to +50 °C operation. Typical applications include collision protection for cranes/gantry systems, positioning in electroplating plants, skillet systems, side-tracking skates, and stacker cranes, with c UL US approvals.
