The Leuze AMS 308i 200 is a high-precision optical distance sensor designed for industrial collision protection applications, such as crane monitoring. It employs a red laser (Class 2, IEC/EN 60825-1:2014) to measure distances from 200 mm to 200 m with ±3 mm accuracy and 2.1 mm reproducibility (3 sigma), supporting maximum traverse rates of 10 m/s. The sensor features an Ethernet interface with M12 connectors (4-pin and 5-pin configurations), operates on 1830 V DC power, and is housed in a diecast zinc/aluminum enclosure with glass lens protection and membrane keyboard controls.
The cubic housing measures 84 mm × 166.5 mm × 159 mm and is suitable for through-hole mounting. With resolution selectable from 0.001 to 10 mm and a measurement output latency of 1.7 ms, this sensor integrates readily into automated systems requiring reliable distance feedback. Operating temperature range is ?5 to 50 °C, with storage tolerance to ?30 to 70 °C.
