The Leuze AMS 348i 40 H is an optical laser distance sensor designed for precise absolute position measurement up to 40 m against a reflector, using time-of-flight principle with red laser class 2 (IEC/EN 60825-1). It offers 2 mm accuracy, 0.9 mm reproducibility (3 sigma), and supports traverse rates up to 10 m/s, with integrated device heating for operation in -30 to 50 °C environments. Electrical specifications include 18-30 V DC supply, SSI interface (80-800 kHz clock), PROFINET RT option, M12 connectors for BUS IN/OUT (4-pin D-coded), power (5-pin A-coded), and SSI (5-pin B-coded), housed in a rugged 84 x 166.5 x 159 mm metal enclosure (IP65) with 2.45 kg weight and through-hole mounting.
