The Leuze AMS 384i 40 H is an absolute measuring optical laser distance sensor designed for precise distance measurements from 0.2 to 40 m against reflectors, achieving ±2 mm accuracy and 0.3 mm consistency with a light spot diameter of ?40 mm at maximum range. It features a red laser diode (650690 nm, Class 2), InterBus interface (500 kbit/s or 2 Mbit/s), 1830 VDC supply (?250 mA without heating, ?500 mA with), two programmable inputs/outputs, and a graphical display with membrane keyboard for operation. Housed in cast zinc and aluminum with glass optics (IP65 rated, 2.45 kg), it operates from -30 to 50 °C with heating enabled and supports traverse rates up to 10 m/s; typical applications include crane collision protection, gantry crane positioning, electroplating plants, and skillet systems.
