Description
The Baumer CFAM 18N3600 10119686 is a cylindrical threaded proximity sensor with a nominal sensing distance of 8 mm, adjustable from 2 to 8 mm. It features flush mounting, a ground electrode, and a temperature drift of ±15% over a range of +10 to +70 °C. The sensor includes a potentiometer for sensitivity adjustment, a yellow LED output indicator, and operates contactlessly. It can detect non-conductive media, sense fill levels through containers, and is suitable for object detection in bulk goods, although it should not be in direct contact with liquids. The sensor operates on a voltage supply range of 10 to 30 VDC, with a maximum current consumption of 20 mA, and supports an NPN break function (NC) output circuit with a maximum output current of 200 mA. The voltage drop is less than 1.5 VDC, and it has a switching frequency of 50 Hz. Safety features include short circuit and reverse polarity protection. The housing is made of brass nickel-plated material, measures 18 mm in diameter and 64 mm in length, and is connected via a 2-meter cable. It operates within a temperature range of -25 to +75 °C and is rated IP 65 for protection against dust and water ingress.
