The Dynapar AX71 is a compact 70mm diameter stainless steel absolute rotary encoder designed for demanding industrial and hazardous area applications. It delivers up to 17-bit single-turn and 12-bit multi-turn absolute positioning with optical sensing technology and ±35 arcsecond accuracy, supported by selectable BiSS, SSI, or CANopen communication protocols. Rated for operation from -40°C to +60°C with IP64/IP67 protection and ATEX/IECEx certification, this encoder withstands 100 m/s² vibration and 1000 m/s² shock while accommodating shaft speeds up to 10,000 rpm. The radial cable connection and robust stainless steel construction make it suitable for top drives, draw work drums, mud pumps, and other critical positioning applications in oil & gas, food & beverage, and industrial automation environments.
