The Schneider Electric 8903LXO40V01 is a Square D Class 8903 Type LX mechanically held multipole lighting contactor designed for commercial and industrial lighting control applications. This 4-pole configuration features four normally open (4 NO) power contacts rated at 30A for fluorescent loads and 20A for tungsten loads, with a maximum operating voltage of 600VAC. The mechanically held design uses a latching mechanism that maintains the contact position without continuous coil energization, reducing energy consumption and coil heat generation during normal operation. The contactor is operated by a 24V AC, 60Hz coil providing low-voltage control for safety and compatibility with standard lighting control systems, timers, and photocells. This open-type (NEMA Type 1 open) contactor is intended for installation within a user-supplied enclosure or alongside other panel components. Separate Class 9991 enclosures are available for standalone mounting applications. The Type LX design supports field conversion of normally open contacts to normally closed, with a maximum of six NC poles for LX-type contactors. Power pole kits are available to add additional 30A poles to existing Type LX contactors, enabling system expansion as lighting circuits grow.
