The Schneider Electric EMA41 is a Square D Surgelogic EMA Series surge protective device (SPD) engineered to deliver specification-grade surge suppression for commercial, industrial, and institutional indoor applications. With a 100kA per-phase surge current rating, it provides robust transient voltage protection for 480Y/277V three-phase, four-wire electrical systems.
Classified as a UL 1449 Type 1 SPD, the EMA41 can be installed at any point in the electrical systemon the line or load side of the equipment overcurrent devicemaking it suitable for service entrance, distribution panel, and critical branch panel installations. Its modular design is based on individually replaceable phase modules, allowing for flexible, cost-effective surge suppression and simplified maintenance or field replacement.
The EMA41 features multi-stage suppression circuits utilizing fast-acting metal oxide varistors (MOVs) for both transient suppression and enhanced EMI/RFI filtering across all critical modes. A built-in LED status indicator provides real-time operational monitoring. The unit mounts externally adjacent to electrical equipment via conduit connection, keeping lead lengths short for optimized surge suppression performance.
This SPD is housed in a durable UL/NEMA 1 steel enclosure and is UL and cUL Listed to UL 1449. It complies with NEC Article 285, CSA 22.2 No. 8-M1986, and UL 96A 12th Edition Master Label requirements for lightning protection systems. Components are rated to UL 1283 standards.
