The SMC 11-CXSL15-50 is a clean room specification dual rod cylinder from the CXS series with 15mm bore and 50mm stroke. Part number decoded: CXS = CXS dual rod slide table, L = body configuration, 15 = 15mm bore, 50 = 50mm stroke. The 15mm bore is one step up from the 10mm, providing approximately 10.6N at 0.6 MPa more than double the 10mm bore output.
The 50mm stroke provides moderate travel for clean room slide operations including component transfer between stations, sensor extension and retraction, gripper approach movements, and inspection probe positioning. The CXS ball bushing guide mechanism maintains precision alignment throughout the stroke, ensuring the slide table returns to exactly the same position cycle after cycle. This repeatability is critical in semiconductor equipment where micron-level positioning accuracy is maintained by mechanical reference surfaces on the slide table.
