Universal Robots e-Series | Collaborative Robot
Medium-Sized Versatility — Long Reach. High Payload. Total Flexibility.
The UR12e is Universal Robots' medium-duty industrial collaborative robot — the successor to the popular UR10e — combining the longest reach and highest payload in the mid-size cobot category. With 12.5 kg of payload and 1300 mm of reach, it handles the tasks that smaller cobots can't while remaining compact, collaborative, and fast to deploy.
Whether you're automating high-volume palletizing, tending heavy CNC equipment, welding complex seams, or building a custom OEM machine, the UR12e delivers the motion platform, the safety architecture, and the software ecosystem to make it happen. It's re-deployable, fast to reprogram, and backed by the broadest collaborative robot integration library in the industry.

The UR12e's combination of long reach and high payload makes it one of the most versatile cobots available. It is deployed successfully across every major manufacturing sector:
The UR12e is available with two software platforms. Both run on the same robot arm — the difference is in the controller generation and software capabilities.
The UR12e is available in eight configurations across two software platforms. Every variant uses the same robot arm — the differences are in the controller generation, teach pendant, and power input.
| SKU | Software | Controller | Teach Pendant | Power | Best For |

All UR12e variants share the same safety architecture — 17 configurable safety functions, force and torque sensing on all six joints, and certification to EN ISO 13849-1 PLd Category 3. This enables collaborative operation alongside people in appropriate applications without the need for physical safety cages or barriers, subject to a site risk assessment.
| Safety Standard | EN ISO 13849-1, PLd Category 3 |
| Collaborative Standard | ISO/TS 15066, ISO 10218-1 |
| Configurable Safety Functions | 17 — joint positions, speeds, forces, power, momentum, stopping time/distance |
| Force/Torque Sensing | All 6 joints — automatic protective stop on threshold breach |
| 3PE Option | Available on SKU 200876 and 200880 — ISO 10218-2 enabling device compliance |
| Safety Password | Password-protected safety configuration on all variants |
Smooth, precise movement is critical for process applications such as welding, dispensing, and machine tending. All UR12e variants benefit from UR's core motion control algorithms, designed to reduce joint wear, increase uptime, and maintain path accuracy at high speeds.
PolyScope X variants (SKU 200879–200882) add OptiMove — Universal Robots' advanced motion control layer that further reduces vibration, smooths complex paths, and increases cycle speed for process-critical applications.
All UR12e variants share the same I/O and communication capabilities — consistent regardless of software platform or controller variant:
| Communication Protocols | Modbus TCP, PROFINET, Ethernet/IP, EtherCAT (via URCap), ROS |
| Digital I/O | 8 DI / 8 DO (controller) + 2 DI / 2 DO (tool flange) |
| Analog I/O | 2 AI / 2 AO (controller) + 2 AI (tool flange) |
| Tool Flange Power | 12 V / 24 V at tool connector |
| Ethernet | 1000 Mb/s |
| URScript / RTDE | TCP/IP programmatic control and real-time data exchange on all variants |
| 3rd-Party Expansion | URCaps plugin ecosystem |
