The Leuze AMS 338i 40 H is an optical distance sensor from the AMS 300 series, utilizing a red laser (Class 2, IEC/EN 60825-1:2014) for precise measurements over a 20040,000 mm range against a reflector, with 2 mm accuracy, 0.9 mm reproducibility (3 sigma), and 0.00110 mm resolution. It features EtherCAT interface with integrated switch (100 Mbit/s), four M12 connectors (BUS IN/OUT D-coded 4-pin, PWR/SW A-coded 5-pin male, service A-coded 5-pin female), and operates on 1830 V DC with a maximum traverse rate of 10 m/s. Housed in a robust diecast zinc/aluminum cubic enclosure (84 x 166.5 x 159 mm, 2.45 kg, glass lens), it supports through-hole mounting, membrane keyboard operation, LC display, and functions from -5 to 50 °C, ideal for collision protection in industrial automation.
