The Leuze AMS 348i 40 SSI is an optical distance sensor from the AMS 300i series, utilizing laser time-of-flight measurement against a reflector for absolute positioning with a range of 200 to 40,000 mm, accuracy of ±2 mm, and reproducibility of 0.9 mm (3 sigma). It features SSI interface with 80800 kHz clock frequency, 1830 V DC supply, integrated PROFINET RT switch (100 Mbit/s, conformance class B), and five M12 connectors for BUS IN/OUT (4-pin D-coded), power/service (5-pin A-coded), and SSI (5-pin B-coded male). Housed in a cubic metal enclosure (84 x 166.5 x 159 mm, 2.45 kg, IP65), it supports traverse rates up to 10 m/s, LC display with membrane keyboard, and applications including crane collision protection, gantry crane positioning, electroplating plants, and high-bay storage systems.
