Factory Optimization with Machine Tending Robots
The most common usage of the term “machine tending” is loading and unloading a machine with parts or materials. Since those entering the workforce are becoming less and less interested in positions with this activity, more companies are installing robots to compensate for the smaller pool of potential operators.
A robot can insert raw material into a machine, initiate the activity, and remove the finished item once the activity is complete. The robot does not need to take a smoke break, use the bathroom or take personal calls. As long as it has raw material to insert and a place to put the finished parts, it works continuously. Budgets of $25K-$50K
Choosing a robot arm and end-effector yourself is very easy. You can customize your setup with the appropriately sized robot arm and select an end-effector that will handle your materials. Wheeled carts are also available should you wish to easily add mobility to your robot and take full advantage of its capabilities.
Budgets of $50K+
