The Leuze BPS 358i SM 100 D is a bar code positioning system designed for precise absolute position determination along self-adhesive barcode tapes, ideal for applications such as electric monorail systems, stacker cranes, and high-bay storage. It features a red laser light source (Class 2, IEC/EN 60825-1:2007), lateral beam exit, depth of field from 50 to 170 mm, measurement range up to 10,000,000 mm, resolution from 0.001 to 10 mm, reproducibility of 0.05 mm (1 sigma), and measurement output in 2 ms at traverse rates up to 10 m/s. The unit integrates PROFINET RT interface (Conformance Class B) with switch functionality up to 100 Mbit/s, operates on 18-30 V DC (max 3.7 W), and offers IP65 protection, die-cast aluminum housing (100 x 108.7 x 48.3 mm, 580 g), with M12 connectors and operating temperature from -35 to 70 °C.
