## Product Description
The WAGO 221-683 is a 3-conductor compact splicing connector featuring lever-actuated CAGE CLAMP technology for tool-free termination of solid, stranded, and fine-stranded conductors ranging from 0.5 to 6 mm² (2010 AWG). Operation is straightforward: pull the lever up, insert the conductor, and push the lever down to establish a secure connection. The connector carries a maximum rated current of 41 A and supports nominal voltages up to 320 V (Category II) or 100 V (Category III), with a rated surge voltage of 2.5 kV across all categories.
Built with a transparent polyamide housing and tin-plated copper alloy contacts, the 221-683 is suitable for fixed installation applications including Ex e (ATEX/IECEx) environments in Zones 1 and 2. The connector operates reliably from 60 °C to +100 °C and meets UL 1059, IEC/EN 60664-1, and DIN EN 61984 standards. Its compact form factor and mismating protection make it well-suited for industrial control panels, motor terminals, and power distribution applications where quick conductor changes or high-density wiring is required.
