The Gocator Sensor Portfolio

Gocator 200 Series - Multi-Point Profile Scanners

A purpose-built modular transverse scanning system for wood-products manufacturing. The Gocator 200 Series includes four sensor types - the 205 LED color and tracheid detection sensor for lumber grading, plus the 210, 230, and 250 laser profilers for cross-sectional measurement on sawmill, planer mill, and panel production lines. The system architecture supports multi-sensor deployments across wide conveyor widths for complete board, panel, and engineered wood product inspection.

Gocator 1000 Series - 3D Laser Point Profilers

Single-point measurement at scan rates up to 32 kHz. Built for closed-loop feedback, contour feature measurement, and high-speed displacement inspection on fast-moving processes. The Gocator 1300 Series point profilers (1320C, 1340C, 1350C, 1365C, 1380C) are also drop-in replacements for legacy Selcom laser displacement sensors, with selectable triangulation angles that match Selcom's measurement geometry for retrofit applications.

Gocator 2000 Series - 3D Laser Line Profilers

The workhorse family for high-speed inline 3D inspection. Laser triangulation captures full cross-sectional profiles that build into dense 3D point clouds as parts move through the field of view. Choose by resolution, field of view, and application:

  • Gocator 2100 Series - Entry-level laser line profilers for cost-sensitive general-purpose 3D inspection. VGA imager, 640 points per profile.
  • Gocator 2300 Series - The proven megapixel workhorse profilers behind thousands of factory deployments worldwide.
  • Gocator 2400 Series - Ultra high-resolution profilers (X resolution down to 5.8 microns). The only Gocator family with both red and blue laser variants. Best for tire, rubber, electronics, rail, and EV battery applications.
  • Gocator 2500 Series - Engineered for high-speed inline inspection at scan rates up to 20 kHz. Specular models 2512 and 2522 add specialized optics for highly reflective targets.
  • Gocator 2600 Series - 4K+ resolution remastered profilers with a 9 MP imager, 4192 data points per profile, X resolutions to 2.5 microns, HDR Mode, and fields of view up to 2 meters. Built for EV battery, semiconductor, consumer electronics, and wide-conveyor applications.
  • Gocator 2880 - Dual triangulation laser line profiler that captures both sides of a feature in a single sensor head. The standard for log scanning rings and wood products applications where occlusion and shadowing defeat single-camera profilers.

Gocator 3000 Series - 3D Snapshot Sensors

Blue-LED structured light captures a full-field 3D point cloud in a single snapshot. Built for inspection of stationary parts - robotic pick-and-place, assembly verification, bin picking, and momentary-pause inline stations. Includes Universal Robots integration certification for cobot-mounted applications.

  • Gocator 3210 - Large field-of-view structured-light snapshot sensor for bigger parts and wider working envelopes. UR certified.
  • Gocator 3500 Series - Metrology-grade 5 MP snapshot sensors. The 3506B targets small precision parts with 12-micron accuracy. The 3520B adds 3-way triangulation for shadow-free measurement on complex geometries.

Gocator 4000 Series - Coaxial Line Confocal Sensors

Coaxial line confocal imaging delivers shadow-free 3D measurement with exceptional angular range - maximum slope angle up to plus or minus 85 degrees, beyond the limits of conventional laser triangulation. The Gocator 4000 Series includes four models (4010, 4011, 4020, 4021) covering different working distances and resolutions. 1920 data points per profile, scan speeds up to 16 kHz with GoMax NX or PC acceleration. Built for semiconductor, consumer electronics, EV battery, and precision applications where steep edges and reflective surfaces defeat triangulation.

Gocator 5500 Series - Dual-Axis Line Confocal Sensors

Industry-first patented dual-axis confocal design generates 3D topography, 3D tomography, and 2D intensity data simultaneously. The Gocator 5500 Series (models 5504, 5512, 5516) scans multi-layered, transparent, translucent, shiny, textured, and mixed materials with sub-micron Z precision. Purpose-built for measuring layer thickness in multi-layered cell phone glass, wafer dimensioning and defect detection in semiconductor, and brake pad surface roughness in automotive. Gocator 6300 Series - Precision 3D Laser Line Profilers

LMI's precision-class smart 3D laser profiler family. Over 6500 data points per profile, X profile data intervals down to under 2.1 microns, and Z repeatability down to 0.15 microns - delivered by telecentric line generation and high numerical aperture custom optics that handle the curved, shiny, and reflective targets where conventional laser triangulation fails. 405 nm blue laser, 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet, IP67 housing. The Gocator 6310 and 6320 are purpose-built for silicon wafer inspection, BGA solder ball measurement, EV battery electrode coating, and curved consumer electronics surfaces.

Gocator 2D Smart Cameras

LMI's newest product family completes the unified vision picture. Launched in January 2026, the Gocator 2D Smart Cameras (1050-M, 1050-C, 1120-M, 1120-C) deliver 5 MP or 12 MP mono or color global shutter CMOS imaging paired with the NVIDIA Jetson Orin NX GPU module for real-time on-device deep learning training and inference. Up to 84 fps with sub-10 ms latency. Hybrid inspection pipelines combine traditional vision tools (alignment, edge, blob, OCR, barcode) with AI anomaly detection and classification - all configured through the same browser-based GoPxL interface used for the 3D sensors. C-mount lens, IP67-rated, M12 connectors, EtherNet/IP, PROFINET, Modbus, and MQTT support. Built in collaboration with Allied Vision and Euresys.

GoMax Smart Vision Accelerator

Compact acceleration appliance available in three models - GoMax NX (legacy Xavier NX), GoMax ORIN (100 TOPS, recommended for most deployments), and GoMax ORIN+ (200 TOPS, server-class). Activate via web browser to accelerate any Gocator sensor and run AI Anomaly Detection without adding a PC to the line.

GoPxL Anomaly Detector

AI-powered defect detection trained on real production data. Onboard training and deployment via GoMax NX, ORIN, or ORIN+ depending on scan resolution and cycle time. Free firmware; licensed dongle (PN 301295) for live sensor operation. REPLAY mode license-free.

Master Network Controllers

Master 810 (up to 8 sensors) and Master 2410 (up to 24 sensors) provide synchronized power, laser safety, and trigger distribution with 1 microsecond accuracy. Daisy-chainable via Up/Downlink port for larger networks. Standard Gigabit Ethernet handles 3D data to the host.

LMI Cordsets

Factory-correct Power/Ethernet and I/O cordsets in straight or 90-degree orientations, lengths from 1.2 to 60 meters. Six standard families plus dedicated G5 High Power variants for the Gocator 5500 Series. High-flex construction rated for cable carriers and continuous-flex applications.

GoPxL IIoT Vision Software

Web-based, hardware-agnostic measurement and inspection environment running natively on every Gocator. Searchable tools, embedded tool help, multi-layer profiling support, live debugging, replay-based validation, and custom HMI building for PC, touchscreen, or mobile.

Open SDK and Emulator

C-based SDK works across every Gocator. Python scripting in GoPxL for custom workflows. Free Gocator Emulator lets engineers develop and test measurement solutions on recorded data in a browser before deploying to live sensors.
