The ABB AFS80-30-22-11 Afs80 contactor is engineered for optimal performance in machine safety applications. It features a robust 3-pole design, capable of handling up to 1000 V IEC or 600 V UL, and is equipped with fixed 2 N.O + 2 N.C. front-mounted auxiliary contact blocks with screw connections. This makes it ideal for controlling motors up to 37 kW / 400 V AC (AC-3) or 60 hp / 480 V UL, and for switching power circuits up to 125 A (AC-1) or 105 A UL general use. The contactor is designed to integrate seamlessly into machine manufacturer systems, adhering to key standards such as EN ISO 13849 and EN 62061, ensuring the safe operation of machinery and equipment. The AFS80-30-22-11 is equipped with a yellow low energy auxiliary contact block, providing clear status feedback circuits essential for machine safety applications. Its AF technology allows for a wide control voltage range (24 ... 60 V), accommodating large control voltage variations and reducing panel energy consumption, even in unstable networks. The built-in surge protection offers a compact and efficient solution, while the block type design allows for easy extension with add-on auxiliary contact blocks and a variety of accessories. The contactor's mirror and mechanically linked contacts, marked with symbols according to IEC60947-5-1, ensure reliable contactor status, enhancing system safety. Additionally, the front-mounted auxiliary contact block is permanently fixed and features a protective cover to prevent manual operation, with a minimum switching capacity of 12 V / 3 mA and a failure rate of 10^-7 as per IEC 60947-5-4.
