Description
The Baumer FZDM 16N5101/S14 is an intensity difference sensor with a sensing distance of less than 400 mm. It features a flashing light indicator for alignment or soiled lens detection, and a yellow LED light indicator. Sensitivity can be adjusted via a 270° potentiometer. The sensor includes suppression of reciprocal influence and utilizes a pulsed infrared diode with a wavelength of 880 nm. It boasts a quick response and release time of less than 1 ms. Operating on a voltage supply range of 10 to 30 VDC, it has a maximum no-load current consumption of 41 mA and a typical consumption of 29 mA. The output functions include light/dark operate with an NPN output circuit and a maximum output current of 200 mA. Safety features include short circuit and reverse polarity protection. The sensor's compact rectangular design measures 15.4 mm in width, 50 mm in height and depth, and is made from die-cast zinc with a PMMA front optics. It connects via an M12 4-pin connector and is rated IP 67 for protection against dust and water, suitable for operating temperatures from -25 to +65 °C.
